January 20, 2003 - USCIS EXTENDS GROUP 1 AND 2 DEADLINES
GROUPS 1 and 2 -
The Immigration and Naturalization Service has extended the Special
Registration requirement deadline for citizens or nationals of the following
countries: Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Eritrea, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon,
Libya, Morocco, North Korea, Oman, Qatar, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia,
United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. If you were required to
register but did not do so you are required to register with, and provide
requested information to the Immigration and Naturalization Service
between January 27, 2003, and February 7, 2003.
GROUP 3 - If you are a citizen or national of Saudi Arabia or Pakistan and were
last admitted to the United States on or before September 30, 2002 and
are planning to stay past February 21, 2003, then you are required
to register and provide additional information to the Immigration
and Naturalization Service. The deadline for registrants
of this group is February 21, 2003.
GROUP 4 - If you are a citizen or national of Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan
or Kuwait and were last admitted to the United States on or before September
30, 2002 and are planning to stay past March 28, 2003, then you are
required to register and provide additional information to the
Immigration and Naturalization Service. The registration
for this group begins February 24, 2003. The deadline is March
28, 2003.

- REPORTING ADDRESS CHANGES - Every alien, including lawful
permanent residents and their children, is required to report an address
change to the USCIS by using Form AR-11. Form AR-11
can be downloaded from the USCIS website.

- INS LAUNCHES NEW CASE STATUS SYSTEM - Clients can now
check the status of their case by simply visiting the new USCIS Case
Status System. The information provided is the same as the
USCIS Direct Inquiry system, but this allows clients to
avoid busy signals. Simply input your receipt number and receive
up to the moment updates on your case. Please contact us should you
